This year marks 50 years since the inception of the Executive MBA program at my alma mater, the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. When opened in 1968 SFU’s EMBA Beedie was the first of its kind in Canada. The program has built many careers, including my own, and executive MBA graduates have helped drive innovation in senior management roles across Canada, and I’m proud to say my son Erik is an alumni.
Over the past 50 years, SFU Beedie has continued to be a school of firsts. Whether it be starting Canada`s first Executive MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership, or creating British Columbia`s first urban university campus at the iconic Harbour Centre in Vancouver`s financial district, SFU Beedie has been at the forefront of business leadership education.
I am pleased to congratulate SFU Beedie on 50 years of their Executive MBA program. Under the leadership of Dean Ali Dastmalchian SFU President Andrew Petter we’re looking forward to 50 more!
